Hey all, just graduated and thinking about grad school in the US for design/AI. But all these stories about visa crackdowns and fewer international students have me second-guessing. Have any of you had issues or changes with your US student visa? Is it still worth applying right now, or should I consider options elsewhere? Would love to hear real experiences and advice.
I’m a current student here and, honestly, campus feels less diverse now. Lost a couple of friends to the new visa rules. It sucks for group projects and even sports. Unis might get more expensive too if fewer students come from abroad.
As a PhD student in AI, the whole visa thing is stressful. Hard to plan with all the new limits—they just keep changing the rules about OPT and how long you can stay. Makes you wonder if it’s worth the gamble, especially for research folks.
